There are some contentious negotions occuring between the city, the developer, and Wal-Mart regarding the proposed connector road from Pierson Dr. exit to the Eatway Drive Exit. It is intended to span both Amity Gardens Shopping Center and Coliseum Shopping Center. Rumor has it tat Wal-Mart does not want the conector road and is not interested in connecting to the other retai in Coiseum Shopping Center. Apparently it will cut deeply into their parking and the increase in traffic to the Wal-Martl would not be significant enough to justify the loss of the parking.

But last I heard Wal-Mart is moving forward, and willl completeconstruction in 2011

WAL-MART has started demolition a the Amity Gardens Shopping Center as of March 15th 2010. Harbor Freight moved out Feb 26th. Let the redevelopment begin!
